All are welcome at Levitt Shell on April 5, at 6:45 A.M., for an ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service provided for the community by five nearby mid-town congregations (Evergreen Presbyterian Church; First Baptist Church, Poplar and Parkway; Greater Lewis Street Missionary Baptist Church; Idlewild Presbyterian Church, and Lindenwood Christian Church) and the Office of Religious and Community Life at Rhodes College. This is the 5th year these ministries have come together to offer this beautiful and well attended service. The Rev. Dr. Walt Tennyson, Chaplain at Rhodes College, will be speaking. Music will be led by the choir from Greater Lewis Street Missionary Baptist Church. The service will last approximately 1 hr. As usual, all attending are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets to sit on. It will be damp. Should it be impossible to hold the service at Levitt Shell due to weather, the service will be held at Greater Lewis Street Missionary Baptist Church, 152 East Parkway North, on the southeast corner of Poplar and Parkway. Should such a change in venue occur, notice will be made on this website.
