Levitt Shell Next Generations Apprenticeship

The Levitt Shell is proud to introduce a new apprenticeship project specifically designed to create learning opportunities in music for young people.  The Levitt Shell has significant resources in sound, lighting and video production for the 50 Free Concerts Series. During the apprenticeship, students will assist 6 highly qualified professionals in music that have been working professionally and full-time in the Memphis music market with decades of experience. Students will have the opportunity to learn from local professionals who work in fields of  light and sound engineering, video production, radio broadcast and event production.

During the Internship, students are expected to be present and ready to learn from 4:00pm to 10:00pm Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Transportation will be available from students' schools to the Levitt Shell.  When they arrive at the Levitt Shell, students will work with their supervisor and assisting with load-in of musicians and the set-up of stage and equipment.  Students working on video production will set-up backstage and prepare for interviews of musicians and videography of the concert.

The total time investment by each student is 24 hours per week for ten weeks, plus an additional ten hours of training and additional time spent in training.  Students successfully completing the program receive a stipend.
